Learn how to ‘Layer’ with our Spiced Autumn Collection
We believe layering is a luxury of the colder months of the year. It allows you to be more creative and interesting with your styling and outfit choices whilst also offering you warmth and comfort that we are all longing for! Layering is a great opportunity to create a capsule wardrobe too: ‘A capsule wardrobe is a collection of clothing that is composed of interchangeable items only, to maximise the number of outfits that can be created. The aim is to have an outfit suitable for any occasion without owning excessive items of clothing.’ We are in an era of more sustainable fashion, our Spiced Autumn collection is a perfect opportunity to create a gorgeous, sustainable capsule wardrobe where the options and possibilities are endless! We have put together 4 outfits from our Spiced Autumn collection that all feature the magic of layering and how it can truly elevate any item of clothing. However, the most exciting thing is… every item in our collection can be paired with another item, there are no limits! We have put together these looks to showcase different ways to style essential wardrobe staples with our beautiful products and autumnal palette.

Look One: Luxury Sugarplums
Elegant, and sophisticated with a slight edge. Layer up your maxi dress with a large statement scarf, we chose our plum-toned items from our Spiced Autumn collection to create cosmopolitan monochromatic look that will keep you chic AND cosy this autumn. We love the slightly clashing patterns between the scarf and the maxi dress, the scarfs tartan pattern is traditional and provides well-loved English elegance whilst the ditsy dress print contrasts perfectly and adds some spice to the overall look! Layering a large scarf with your dress allows versatility to combat the ever-Indecisive autumn climate. If you’re catching glances on a cold and frosty morning, wrap the scarf up around your neck for a more traditional look that will keep you snug! If you’re strutting your stuff on a day where neither you or the weather can’t make its mind up on what’s appropriate, drape this beautiful scarf round your shoulders as a shawl or cape for a sophisticated and elegant look. A small over the shoulder bag is a tasteful accessory that ties together the whole look with a complimentary light grey. Our maxi dress accommodates so many different styles and can be dressed up or down as you please for any occasion and any weather! It really is a staple for your wardrobe.

Look Two: Wild Blackberries
Finding a look that is comfortable and wearable that also looks edgy and effortless can be quite the challenge. We believe that layering is the most effective and easiest way to make all of those fashion desires come true; more is more! For this look we took our chocolate block maxi dress, it’s bold and unique pattern is a fashion statement, whilst it’s relaxed fit creates a more casual vibe. Autumn is turtleneck season, layer a turtleneck under anything and you won’t regret it! You now look cool and cosy. We layered our slouchy cord shirt, so edgy and so effortless.
This beauty can be tied up at the front to create a more fitted, alternative look or it can be draped open for a chic and relaxed vibe, or perhaps you can button up the shirt to transform the dress into what appears to be a maxi skirt. Keeping this look alternative, and edgy, we paired our maxi dress with some chunky beige Chelsea boots to compliment the brown tones of the dress whilst ensuring no big puddles ruin your day! Layering doesn’t just stop with clothes – jewellery is a perfect way to tie the whole look together so we added a statement gold chain necklace, with green stones to compliment the shirt. All the clothes in this outfit create a ‘capsule wardrobe’ meaning they can be used in so many ways and you will never get bored of them!

Look Three: Classic Cinnamon
Is it a top? Is it a dress? It’s both. Our ditsy tunic is a wardrobe staple due to its versatility. It can be layered with trousers, a skirt or worn as a dress (add some complimentary statement tights for those colder days!), you will never run out of options! For this layered look we took inspiration from the autumnal tones found in the print of the ditsy dress, featuring its muted teal and russet tones. To enhance this colour palette, we paired the dress with a muted navy turtleneck to elevate the shape of the dress whilst being weather-conscious. Making the outfit more casual, we layered one of our signature mohair cardigans in a beautiful rich russet/burnt orange tone. The cardigan can be worn open for a simple yet effectively relaxed look or tied up to make the outfit more fitted and draw attention to the statement dress. To make the outfit more elegant and traditional, the cardigan could also be draped over your shoulders like a shawl and secured by tying the arms together! A small statement handbag adds a cosmopolitan aesthetic to the more classic feel of this look, tying in the colour palette perfectly with its warm undertones. We recommend pairing this outfit with some chunky boots or trainers to balance out the proportions and for a more urban look. This outfit has endless opportunities which is what we believe layering is all about!

Look Four: Honey and Apples
Relaxed, effortless, and simple layering. This outfit encapsulates the sustainability of making layering your desired style for the colder months. We love the block colours of this outfit and the simplicity it has whilst also simultaneously being a statement. Focused on the deep yellow mohair vest, we kept the rest simple! A black turtleneck is always a chic and classic wardrobe staple, you will never get tired of the endless choices a black turtleneck offers. Floaty trousers aren’t just for the summer, for the colder days layer them up with tights underneath for maximum warmth, we just love the chic comfort these trousers offer. Paired with our chunky suede-style Chelsea boot to create height, these trousers offer contemporary elegance and style. Their deep olive tone pairs so classically with the black turtleneck, that for the warmer autumn days, this outfit is just as stunning if it’s too hot for our gorgeous vest! Speaking of that ‘gorgeous vest’, it acts almost as an accessory due to its shape and fit, adding a pop of colour and keeping the look interesting with its analogous colour scheme.
